HE IS RISEN! ALLELUIA!

The Resurrection of Jesus calls us to celebrate victory forever. He is victorious over death, never to die again. He defeated the power of the ultimate enemy which is death. It is triumph over death. Love and life now triumph. He defeated death by the power of God’s love, the only true power. His Resurrection reveals a love that will never die. Death has no power over Him anymore. His victory is the foundation of our faith. If Christ has not risen our faith is meaningless. Faith is that deep conviction that God is with us every step of the way. The word Easter means the East because the sun rises in the East bringing light, warmth and hope. Easter is the symbol for the rising Christ who is the true light of the world, the light that dispels darkness. We are Easter people because we share in the victory of Jesus. His Resurrection is our resurrection too. Death has no power over us anymore. Darkness and death do not have the last word. Death is not and can never be the end. God alone has the last and ultimate word. His love will ultimately prevail. Our God is a God of the living not of the dead. His love is stronger than death, greater than our betrayals, infidelities, guilt and failings. He will never give up on His creation. He is never tired of loving and forgiving us. No one can frustrate God’s plan to save us. The Resurrection of Jesus is the resurrection for all humanity because He is the head of all humanity. Where the head goes, the body follows. His Resurrection is our hope and our Christian hope is not an empty hope but a confident hope because He defeated evil, sin and death forever. The Church is the physical presence of Christ in our tormented world today where we have culture of death and globalization of indifference. Therefore, as we celebrate this great celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, we are called to be artners of God, to be life givers and responsible stewards of creation. We are called to continue His work restoring goodness in ourselves, in others and in creation. It is a call to change and change radically. We are called to live fearless lives and bring harmony, peace, joy and love into the world. Happy Easter!
