Becoming Catholic

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Church? Perhaps you’ve been thinking of becoming a member of St. Agnes parish community, or perhaps you are just curious about what Catholics believe.  Are you a baptized adult Catholic who has never celebrated First Communion or Confirmation?  We invite you to join us for RCIA, which is ongoing throughout the year.

The acronym RCIA stands for Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

RCIA is for those seeking to learn more about the Catholic faith.  It is a spiritual process as opposed to a program, characterized by an awakening or conversion of the heart, that leads one to a life of Christian discipleship.  Participants who wish to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist are encouraged to attend each weekly session.  RCIA sessions are held a few times a week to accommodate different schedules.  Classes are located in the Parish Center behind the church on Wednesday evenings at 6:45pm, Saturday at 8:00AM and as needed for special circumstances.  The process is a “come and see” approach to learning about the Catholic Faith.  Perhaps this year is your time, to make a fresh start and commitment to a personal Christian discipleship?
